The side of Oahu is subdivisions. We just took the first flight out.

The ferry ride to Swartz Bay felt like Hawaii.

Video taken from top of Mount Douglas. Victoria can be seen first, then Haro Strait and US on opposite shore; then Vancouver island toward the ferry terminal at Swartz Bay.

We walked from Dennis's house to Beacon Community Church in the local community centre.

The singing was wonderful and very heartfelt because there were only a couple of instruments and the songs were older styles. The church started 6 years ago as a plant and is now self sustaining. It is very welcoming to anyone as evidenced by different age and ethnic grouping.

Front door of brother Dennis's house; a giant Hobbit lives here.

ree
Emily Carr lived on the next block.

ree
Fonyo Beach with Port Angeles, Washington on the opposite shore.

Willows Beach is on the East side of Victorio.

My favourite part of Victoria is the Royal Victoria Yacht Club. Sailboats were out for a Sunday afternoon meander 3Nov19.

Chinatown, Victoria BC.

Narrow walkways between streets of Victoria.

A road tour with Dennis is always interesting; here we are at Hartley Castle, Royal Roads University.

Front entrance of Hatley Castle

Royal Roads University is across the channel from Espquimalt and Maritime Forces Canada headquarters. It follows that there is a Maritime Military school here. Courses at the University are taken online, the list of areas of study are extensive. The cohort of students meet at campus from time to time. The campus is compact but very quiet with beautiful gardens.

As we returned to Victoria, we stopped at the Six Mile pub for lunch. British Columbia authorities from the distant past dictated the style of architecture. We ate Sunday evening at a Chinese "din sum" restaurant. Chinese servers brought hot food to your table and we accepted or rejected; very flavourful and inexpensive.

ree
Totum inside a walkway from the Empress Hotel. There were also bronze "carvings" that only the wealthy would purchase; prices started at about $10000. They were breathtaking.

ree
Totems at the Victoria museum.

During the evening, Dennis took professional style photos of Trish and I in his basement studio.

We looked ok after travelling for almost 2 weeks.

Sadly, we awoke at 3:15am to go to the airport for a direct flight to Toronto Pearson; what a shock after 3 weeks of non stop action!
